Abstract
This project will investigate the capability of
DMC to detect and quantify the forested areas which
are affected by low intensity fires and are gradually
dying.
Combined with fire intensity information, produced
using a method developed by Wooster et al. (2003) for
MODIS imagery, the high spatial resolution, high temporal
coverage and wide swath width of DMC makes the imagery
particular attractive to find these small areas on
a regional scale by studying their phenological behaviour
after a low intensity fire event.
