DMCii supplies high resolution DMC satellite imagery to the European Commission (EC) for programmes that monitor agriculture, forest fires and food security. This includes Europe’s biggest remote sensing programme, Control with Remote Sensing (CwRS), which monitors the adherence to policies on area-based crop subsidies across Europe. Farming subsidies help support the continued efforts of Europe’s farming community and DMC satellite imagery is used within the project to accurately determine the areas of land usage over strictly controlled sample sites at field level.
